- Príncipe Island has one of the last worldwide remaining primary rainforests that covers the rocky peaks and slopes, cascading down to some of the most idyllic beaches in the world. In 2012 Príncipe and its surrounding islets were proclaimed as an UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
